11/22/63 is a 2011 Science fiction and historical fiction novel by Stephen King.

Jake Epping is a 35-year-old high school English teacher in Lisbon Falls, Maine, whose quiet life is upended by his friend Al Templeton, the owner of a local diner. Al reveals a secret hidden inside his diner's storeroom: a temporal portal—which he calls the "rabbit hole"—that leads directly to October 9, 1958, at 11:58 AM. No matter how long someone spends in the past, only two minutes pass in the present, and every trip resets previous changes.

Dying of lung cancer, Al asks Jake to finish the mission he could not complete: live in the late 1950s and early 1960s to prevent the assassination of President John F. Kennedy on November 22, 1963, believing JFK's survival will create a better world.
